DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (JAN. 17)

Are you ready to explore the beautiful Pine Point Rapids in the Whiteshell area on foot during the winter? Grab some snowshoes or hiking boots and join us!

At the rapids, we will gather in the shelter where there is a wood stove, or we can enjoy the fire pit outside near the rapids if the temperatures are mild.

Arrival Time: by 9:30 AM. We will depart the trailhead to begin our activity by 10:00 AM at the latest.

LocationWe will meet at the Pine Point trailhead located in the Whiteshell Provincial Park (park pass is required).

Duration: Approximately 8 kms, 4 Hours. After our break at the Rapids, we will be taking the second loop to the Acorn and Viburnum Falls before returning back.

Difficulty: Intermediate. This activity will provide a good workout!

For those wanting to carpool, we will meet at Shooter's Family Golf Centre and Restaurant, 2731 Main St. Upon meeting there we'll do a brief gear check, park excess cars, and then be on our way! NOTE: If you are accepting a ride, please offer the driver a donation towards the cost of their gas.

The trail is doable on foot or with snowshoes. Those on foot are recommended to bring gaiters, extra socks and appropriate boots. Snowshoers need to bring their own equipment or bring rented equipment (snowshoe rentals can be found at Wilderness Supply, MEC, Woodcock Cycle) and of course have appropriate footwear.

Please leave dogs at home.

We will be looking for a few participants that have a backcountry cook system you'd be willing to bring and share.

Participants will be asked to bring mugs so we can share hot chocolate (dairy free) and tea!

Members can bring 1 non-member guest to this event at a discounted rate.

Further details will be provided to registered participants. Participants are responsible for having a valid e-mail address, communicating with the event organizer regarding any changes in attendance, and for checking e-mail prior to an event.

This event allows cancellation no less than 5 days before start of event. If you are no longer able to attend, please see our No Show Policy.
