We are proceeding (very cautiously!) with certain events going forward. In order to make this work, we will be allowing a small number of participants at each event. We will need your cooperation in only signing up for events you can truly commit to attending. If you miss out on registering please get yourself registered on the waitlist. We also ask for everyone's cooperation and patience as we all adjust! Please see our policy and safety practices here.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (JUNE 16)

Journaling helps us to make sense of the thoughts in our mind and where we find ourselves throughout the seasons of life. The forest provides a peaceful place to slow down and allow thoughts to flow onto paper. Come with an open mind and heart and learn how journaling combined with hiking can be part of your self-care. This experience will be structured with journaling prompts for personal reflection.

Event leader: Christina Hiebert. Click for more information! Christina has led journaling workshops at Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba as part of Women's Programming.

Attendees will receive a digital hand out with nature inspired journaling prompts!

We will participate in the walk rain or shine, unless deemed unsafe. If needed, modifications will be made to the journaling aspect to include guided conversation about our connection with nature.

Arrival Time: by 6:45 PM. We will begin the walk no later than 7:15 PM. The time arranged allows for you to have time to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for the leaders to share information with the group.

Location: Assiniboine Forest  Meet in the parking lot on the corner of Grant Avenue and Chalfont Road.

Overall Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 1/5.

Duration/Distance: Under 4 KM - minimal distance will be covered since we are stopping to journal.
Experience: This event is open to all levels
Terrain: Gentle and flat. Paths are covered in wood chips, crushed limestone, dirt, and cement.
Pace: This activity will be at a slow to moderate pace with multiple breaks for journaling

Please leave dogs at home.

Further details will be provided to registered participants. Participants are responsible for having a valid e-mail address, communicating with the event organizer regarding any changes in attendance, and for checking e-mail prior to an event.
