DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (SEPT. 13)

Happy Trails Hikes are about movement, connection and getting out on the trails in or around Winnipeg during the week. This series of hikes, happening select Tuesday evenings until December, is open to all levels and designed to connect us with others. Some hikes will have a theme and others are just an opportunity to get active outdoors while connecting with like-minded women from the Backcountry Women community.

Event leader: Jessica Burtnick (click for bio).

Arrival Time: 6:15 PM. We will begin the hike no later than 6:30 PM. The time arranged allows for you to have time to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for the event leader to share information with the group.

Location: The Elm Trail in Beaudry Provincial Park follows the south bank of the Assiniboine River. It features river bottom forest including large basswood, cottonwood and maple trees, tall grass prairie and plentiful wildlife including deer, owls and muskrat. A Manitoba Parks pass is required; a reminder that it must be purchased online this year.

Overall Difficulty Rating: Due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 1/5.

This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: Approximately 4.2 km. This trail takes about 1 hour to complete.
Experience: All skill levels are welcome. You should have the ability to walk with the group (while physically distancing) at a moderate, steady pace for the duration of the activity. Appropriate footwear and layered clothing is required.
Terrain: Relatively flat. It can be muddy in some areas.
Pace: This activity will be at a steady, moderate pace.

Please leave dogs at home.

Further details will be provided to registered participants. Participants are responsible for having a valid email address, communicating with the event organizer regarding any changes in attendance, and for checking email prior to an event.

In light of the global pandemic, we are cautiously proceeding, allowing only a small number of participants at each event. We will need your cooperation in only signing up for events you can truly commit to attending. If you miss out on registering please get yourself registered on the waitlist. We also ask for everyone's cooperation and patience as we all adjust! Please see our policy and safety practices here.

This event allows cancellation no less than 5 days before start of event. If you are no longer able to attend, please see our No Show Policy.
