DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, ONE DAY BEFORE THE EVENT (JULY 29)

In light of the global pandemic, we are cautiously proceeding, allowing a small number of participants at each event. We will need your cooperation in only signing up for events you can truly commit to attending. If you miss out on registering please get yourself registered on the waitlist. We also ask for everyone's cooperation and patience as we all adjust! Please see our policy and safety practices here.

Join our paddle nights with Prairie Paddlers for a fun and relaxing evening on the water with like-minded women!

We have a paddle board rental registration option available (that includes a lesson, paddles and all safety equipment) for a limited number of boards provided by Prairie Paddlers.

We also welcome you join with your own SUP, canoe, or kayak. If you are bringing your own equipment, you must know how to use it and follow appropriate safety measures. This includes having your own PFD, paddle board leash, pump for inflatables, etc. (Failing to do so means you won't be qualified to participate in the event.) You are responsible for your own safety.

Event leaders: Ashley Moore and Prairie Paddlers

Arrival Time: Please arrive no later than 6:25 PM if you're renting a paddle board - your instructors will begin providing important information and instruction for the lesson promptly at 6:30 PM, so please do not be late

How it works:

Paddle board renters will receive instructions before launching as well as a lesson with Prairie Paddlers.  As noted above, you must be on time for your lesson to begin promptly at 6:30.

Other participants (those registered who are bringing their own equipment) are expected to allow plenty of time as well, as all participants will launch on the water no later than 7:00 PMWe recommend showing up by 6:30 latest and allow enough travel time so that you aren't late (especially if La Salle is a new location to you!).

  • The recommended time arranged allows for you to have time to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for the leader(s) to share information with the group.
  • You must show up allowing enough time to get set up/inflate your own equipment. The instructors are there to conduct a lesson and can't help with participants needs unless they are signed up for the lesson option.

We will be launching in a staggered fashion as separate groups based on who is renting & receiving a lesson, and who is bringing their own equipment.

Thanks for doing your part to help us run a smooth event for all!

LocationWe will meet at the boat launch in La Salle.
How to get there:
- From the South perimeter, head south on Hwy 330 to La Salle
- After crossing the bridge, turn right on 1 Ave
- Cross the railway tracks and turn right on Rue DeGagne St.
- Head North, just past the community mailboxes and down the hill to the boat launch.
- Park on the side away from the private residence and ensuring that you are not blocking the boat launch.

NOTE: Restrooms are not available at the boat launch; please prepare accordingly. Please bring some water, bug repellent, sunscreen, and wear appropriate clothing for a variety of conditions (such as capri pants, t-shirt/long sleeve shirt, some extra layers).

Overall Average Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 2/5.
This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: Approximately 1 hour of paddling.
Experience: Paddle board renters will be padding with two Paddle Canada certified paddle board instructors who will provide a lesson before launching as well as throughout the session. This is your opportunity to learn or brush up on the basics, safety awareness, and techniques including mounting on the board, kneeling, standing, turning your board, forward stroke and more. The instructors are there to build your confidence! NOTE: All other participants must know how to independently set up and use any equipment you bring and follow appropriate safety measures.
Terrain: The water we are paddling on is sheltered and typically very calm. If you are a first time paddle boarder, you are not required to stand up! You have the option of paddling from your knees or sitting down.

Further details will be provided to registered participants. Participants are responsible for having a valid e-mail address, communicating with the event organizer regarding any changes in attendance, and for checking e-mail prior to an event.

This event allows cancellation no less than 3 days before start of event. If you are no longer able to attend, please see our No Show Policy. A note regarding Paddle Nights: weather can be a reason for us to cancel - we will notify participants of any cancellations by 3 pm via email; be sure to check for updates.
