Pine Point Rapids is a 9 km trail offering beautiful scenery and views through the Canadian Shield. 

This trail is located near Nutimik Lake in the northern area of the Whiteshell. We will hike approximately 2.7 km along the scenic, self-guiding route, to the Pine Point Rapids where there is a small hut and picnic tables to stop for a snack. From there, we will continue along the 2.8 km loop which leads to Acorn Falls and Viburnum Falls and back to the Pine Point Rapids, where we will continue back along the same route to the trailhead. 

We will hike this trail rain or shine, unless deemed unsafe.

Arrival Time: by 9:30 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 10:00 AM. The time arranged allows for you to have time to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for the leaders to share information with the group.

Location: We will meet in the parking lot at the trailhead of Pine Point Rapids. 

Overall Average Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 3/5.
This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: Approximately 9 km (roughly 3 hours, with breaks included). 
ExperienceThis event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate outerwear and gear.  

Terrain: The trail is well-maintained and includes ups and downs across rocky terrain and through forested sections. 

Pace: Moderate with some breaks. 

Please leave dogs at home.

Further details will be provided to registered participants. Participants are responsible for having a valid e-mail address, communicating with the event organizer regarding any changes in attendance, and for checking e-mail prior to an event.

In light of the global pandemic, we are cautiously proceeding, allowing a small number of participants at each event.
