DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (FEBRUARY 4)

Backcountry Women's Starlight Snowshoe is all about getting outdoors on weeknights to enjoy the silence and beauty of winter. Snowshoeing is also a great way to socialize with other like-minded individuals, explore urban parks in and around Winnipeg and incorporate some fun activity into your day!

It is the responsibility of the participant to bring their own (owned, rented, borrowed) snowshoes. We have a couple spare pairs - if you'd like to participate and don't have snowshoes, reach out prior to registration! These will be first come first served.

If you wish to carpool to this event, please see details under the carpools section below.

Event Leader: Maggie Wen - click for information!

Arrival Time: by 6:30PM . We will begin the activity no later than 6:45 PM. The time arranged allows for you to have time to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for the leader to share information with the group.

Location: La Barriere Park

A beautiful forested park just outside the city with a river that runs through it. It's a picturesque spot that is an absolute delight in the wintertime. Route may include bridge crossing, walking along or on river trail, and will vary depending on where the deep snow areas are. Some areas may be open field or forested trail.

In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the ancestral lands of the Ininiw, Anishinaabe, and Dakota Nations, and the homeland of the Metis Nation.  Our organization, Backcountry Women, is based on Treaty No. 1 Territory, and we appreciate that this event takes place on
